"and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.
In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood;

The Lords Supper

Below is an example of a Christian Wedding Ceremony integrating the Lord's Supper (Communion). It begins after the "Declaration"

Declaration of Marriage:

___________ and ___________, since you have committed yourselves to a life-long love before God, and since you have agreed to meet the needs of each other as long as you both live. And so, By the authority vested in me by Almighty God as a Ordained Minister of the Gospel and under authority and according to the laws of the State of Ohio, I now pronounce you husband and wife.

Communion:

At this time, we will celebrate the Lord's Supper. We incorporate Communion into the wedding ceremony here, making Communion the very first act for you __________ and you  ___________ as a married couple.

Rev. Fennessy: “At the final Passover meal Jesus shared with His disciples, He got up from the meal to wash His disciples feet. He took bread, gave thanks and breaking it, gave it to His disciples, saying, "This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me." (Luke 22:19 NIV)

In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you. (Luke 22:20 NIV)

_________ and _________it is because of Christ’ sacrifice that the two of you stand redeemed before Him today. It is only in Jesus Christ that your marriage can become all that you want it to be.

Since that night more than 2,000 years ago Christian leaders have led their flocks, small and large, in remembering the Lord’s sacrifice on their behalf by celebrating the Lord’s Table or communion together.

_________ (Groom), you will become the spiritual leader in your new home. On this special day, as you begin the journey as husband and wife, I invite you to come and serve your bride remembering the sacrifice of Christ on your behalf. “Do this is remembrance of Him.

_________ and _________ come forward to the table where _________ (Groom) will serve _________ (Bride) and they partake of communion together.)

Wedding Prayer:

Heavenly Father, Thou has established marriage for the welfare and happiness of mankind. Now the joys of __________ and ___________ will be doubled since the happiness of one is the happiness of the other.

May their days and years to come be filled with peace and integrity and joy and love.

May this love for each other continue to grow. This I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen

Wedding Blessing:

The Lord Bless you and keep you; The Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. Amen.

  Wedding Kiss:

__________, you may now kiss your bride.
